How long have you been a TL member?

5 years.

Why did you join?

I thought it was a great way to avoid the stockpiling of toys at home. I mean, we are very lucky in Australia to get access to a huge variety of good quality toys and at affordable prices. Plus, with kids birthday parties and Christmas - I've seen kids receive plenty of toys! But often, I get overwhelmed at home with the build up of so many toys - and having to either throw, sell, donate or pass on to other people.

What do you like about the Toy Library?

I like how it teaches my kids some responsibility. Like how they need to take care of the toy library toys, how they have to pack the toys up properly after they finish playing to ensure no missing pieces and once all of that is done, then we bring it back to the toy library and get new toys!

What is your committee role and what does it involve?

I am the Treasurer - where I help to manage the finances, reconcile the bank accounts and ensure the financial records are accurate throughout the year.

Do you have a favourite toy/type of toy?

Marble run! We love building the different tracks together.

Any tips for new members?

I always found it useful to check with the coordinator on any new toys that come in!
