Dear members, At the Carnegie Toy Library, we take pride in serving the families of our community and helping children learn through play. In uncertain times, looking after our children and their well-being is the most important thing. We know many of you – like us – are feeling nervous about the current Coronavirus situation and what this will mean over the coming weeks and months. Our volunteer committee is now considering what other action needs to occur and whether there is a suitable model which will allow the toy library to keep operating safely. We need time to undertake these investigations to see whether any other borrowing model could be realistically implemented by a small, volunteer committee. Accordingly we have decided to close the toy library for the time being. No late fees will be accrued during the current period and all memberships and current loans will be extended. Our last open session will be Saturday 21st March, with an extended session from 10am to 2pm. We will be taking steps to ensure members can borrow safely and we ask that:
Members inside the toy library will be limited to 5, for 15 minutes each
Once inside the toy library, please wash your hands
Do not attend the toy library if you are unwell
Please leave children at home, they will not be allowed to enter the toy library
Ensure all toys to return are CLEAN and COUNTED before you come
We will be in touch as soon as possible to let you know how things are looking. In the meantime, thank you for your support. Keep playing – it feels more important than ever! Don’t forget to check out our website, Facebook and Instagram for some great play ideas.
Thank you for your understanding, The Committee
